Forum under attack by bots - intermittent issue

Post by theOptom »

Hi all,
Recently an increase in site traffic has been noted, as a result of bots. If they create too many site connections at once the site slows or stops working temporarily.

Please bear that in mind if you encounter the site being temporarily unavailable. Just check back another time and it should be working again.

It is currently being investigated to see what can be done.

Thanks.

Just now, slow, sometimes unable to connect. 1 min later all ok
Started out with nothing. Still got most of it left.

It's still dodgy. If I try to look at the unread posts link, it says no.
Oh, Belgium.

Ok, so the forum database settings have been updated. This should provide a more robust fix.

Let me know if any issues.
