I don't think this is a good idea. There is enough abbreviations (college - see below) and I find some of them more of hindrance than a help.

Izopter – I find your posts sometimes difficult to follow due to abbreviations – sorry.

So, therefore, wouldn't it be a help to have this to understand some of Izo's posts????

It would be better if it was in clear English.

Perhaps that pdf from the college could also be placed in the resources area?

hi5
Thanks for the College reference of abbreviations.
True, it is a long list.
(I have added the reference to my first list).

I agree that it should be in the Resources and hereby ask theOptom to list it there.

TheOptom suggested I run this thread to see what if any interest there was. Quite a number polled Yes but since then not a lot of feedback has been received so it may just die the death.

Point taken about my versions of abbreviations and non-English! Sorry about that, hi5. I think there was one abbreviation I was asked about but I had defined it in my original post.
PM me when I next offend - a challenge!

pdf files do not allow for editing or adding to.
Both would have to be posted together in Resources.

However, looking at Richard Hom's postings there is a medical list to be added!

They can be edited but you need the Acrobat software rather than the free reader. There maybe other software that can edit .pdf files - I will do some investigation.

I have Acrobat Pro.
You can edit and add to PDF files so long as you have the same system fonts as those used in the PDF. I've also got Adobe Font Folio, so I've got about 2500 pre-press fonts. I'm not a thief or a torrent monkey, honestly! I worked for a publishing company from 1993-1995 before I went to Uni! (I notice the latest version of Font Folio is £2,109.00 + VAT so it was a generous freebie!)

I have just downloaded the College list and it edits brilliantly, same as a Word document.

The file was originally created in Word, (by Sue.... Hello Sue!!) which means it may be easier to create a new Word file and cut & paste the data from the PDF, then anyone and/or everyone could edit to their hearts content.

Before I get stuck on, do you think I need permission from the College to butcher part of their handbook?
